Working hard to eradicate carpet poverty in Calderdale.
Who would have thought that in 2025, there would be an estimated 1.2million people living in the UK who don't have floor coverings in the common areas of their house because they cannot afford it? We were shocked too...shocked enough to start making a difference to that statistic in Calderdale.
In September 2023 we began working with the UKs largest carpet wholesaler, Mercado, offering brand new carpets that were destined for landfill. In just 24 months, we've carpeted the homes of over 630 struggling families across Calderdale.
Our mission is to eradicate carpet poverty in the Calderdale area, one house at a time. With the continued support of Mercado and local support from funds such as ACTS435, the Morrisons Foundation, the Community Foundation for Calderdale, the Calderdale Resilience Fund (Calderdale Council) and the Together Housing Group, we are making a difference to lives of Calderdale residents, every day.
